বৃহস্পতিবার দুবাই আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামে বাংলাদেশকে ২ উইকেটে হারিয়ে এশিয়া কাপের সুপার ফোরে পৌঁছে গেছে শ্রীলঙ্কা।
বাংলাদেশের দেওয়া ১৮৪ রানের লক্ষ্যে লঙ্কানরা পৌঁছে ২ উইকেট ও ৪ বল হাতে রেখে। শেষ দুই ওভারে ২৫ রান দরকার ছিল শ্রীলঙ্কার, হাতে ছিল মাত্র ৩টি উইকেট।
বাংলাদেশের অভিষিক্ত পেসার এবাদত হোসেন তিন উইকেট নিলেও চার ওভারে দিয়েছেন ৫১ রান। এবাদত দ্বিতীয় স্পেলে বল করতে এসেই ছন্দ হারিয়ে ফেলেন । তাসকিন আহমেদ ৪ ওভারে ২৪ রানে পেয়েছেন ২ উইকেট।
এর আগে, টসে হেরে ব্যাট করতে নামে বাংলাদেশ। ইনিংসের শুরু করেন সাব্বির রহমান ও মেহেদী হাসান মিরাজ। মিরাজ ২৬ বলে ৩৮ রান করলেও ব্যর্থ হয়েছেন সাব্বির। দীর্ঘদিন পর দলে ঢুকে সাব্বির করেন ৬ বলে ৫ রান। তিনে নামা অধিনায়ক সাকিব আল হাসান করেন ২২ বলে ২৪ রান। সাকিবের বিদায়ের পর দায়িত্ব কাঁধে তুলে নেন সহ-অধিনায়ক আফিফ হোসেন ও সাবেক অধিনায়ক মাহমুদ উল্লাহ রিয়াদ। আফিফ খেলেন ২২ বলে ৩৯ রানের ইনিংস। মাহমুদউল্লাহর ব্যাট থেকে আসে ২২ বলে ২৭ রান। শেষ দিকে মোসাদ্দেক হোসেন সৈকত ৯ বলে ২৪ ও তাসকিন আহমেদ ৬ বলে ১১ রানে অপরাজিত থাকেন। শেষ ৬ ওভারে ৭৪ রান আসায় বাংলাদেশের স্কোর দাঁড়ায় ৭ উইকেটে ১৮৩-তে।
